Need your help with cancer home care
Donation protected

Almost overnight, my mom went from being the anchor of our family to losing all her independence and requiring 24 hour care. She is in a tremendous amount of pain and can’t manage any of her basic needs.
She was looking after my two young children and was the primary caregiver for my father, a veteran who was severely injured 45 years ago at the Yom Kippur war.
Where we need your help:
Home care is our biggest financial challenge, while my brother and I are taking on as much as we can, we simply can’t do it on our own. Overnight shifts in addition to daytime hours when my brother and I are unable to assist while at work or tending to our children average $2,000 per week. The expenses are piling up and pulling us down. Many of her medical treatments are out of pocket and her medical insurance premiums are high.
We've received amazing support from the Temple and our community and we're feeling incredibly loved and blessed. We feel confident that she is receiving the best care possible.
Our family is heartbroken by my mother’s condition and poor prognosis. The survival rates of such advanced kidney cancer are less than 8%, but our family is strong, and we’re hopeful that my mom could prolong her life and be able to meet and enjoy her newest grandchild, arriving this March.
We’re hoping in time my mom will regain some independence, but the road there will take several months and in the meantime we need all the financial support we can get.
I know many of you would be here to support us if you could but where we need your support most is in helping us to cover the financial burden of home care costs.
