Lion's Share Food Pantry - Jackson Heights

Tax deductible
In the last months our income has decreased, and we had to cut the number of bags and food that we include in them. Our current cap is 300 bags, but we have to turn down several people every month. As this pace we can only sustain the program for a few months. Food Insecurity is still a serious issue, and we need to help our community.

We have decided to extend this campaign through 2024 to keep supporting our program.
Please help us to spread the word and donate.

We need your support, and together, we can achieve it!!

The Lion’s Share Food Pantry at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church has been helping people and families in need since 2012, and every contribution we receive helps support our mission. One hundred percent of financial donations are used to purchase food, and no goods or services are provided in exchange for the contribution.
Our distribution takes place the second Saturday of every month and is open to all who come to our door; no questions asked. Generous in-kind and financial support of our ministry is especially appreciated now because food insecurity in our community has grown dramatically since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic: the number of people lining up for our monthly distributions has increased more than four times since the pandemic began, and in 2021 we served 4,677 families, at an average of 380 families per month; while before the pandemic, in 2019 we served a total of 1,126 families.
