#Lionhearted-Let's Help Ethan & The Keener Family

Whether you've known the Keener Family for years or only for a small amount of time, you can't help but love them! Mark, Stacey, Ethan & Owen are very actively involved in the South Fayette School District, youth & school athletics, the community, and their family and friends! They are Lions through and through! The Keener Family is so kind & generous - always doing anything for anyone (most of the time without even asking). It is now our time to return the favor!
As many of you know, the Keener Family suffered a very serious health scare in late December 2020. Their good-hearted, 14-year-old, strong, healthy, athletic, son, Ethan, started experiencing some unusual symptoms and was admitted to Children's Hospital for testing. They spent long days and tough nights in the hospital that first week going through many tests and treatments trying to determine the cause. Various options were explored, but after a grueling couple of days, it was determined that Ethan most likely has a rare blood disorder called Severe Aplastic Anemia. This is a rare condition where the body cannot produce enough new blood cells and can develop as a result of bone marrow damage. Ethan has a long journey ahead of him to fight this battle!
The Keener Family has been so appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community thus far! So many people have reached out to see how they can help this wonderful family. As we can only imagine, the road to recovery, and the costs/expenses (medical, travel, bills, etc.) ahead can be so overwhelming! We wanted to help set up a spot for those who wish to contribute to the family monetarily. In lieu of monetary donations, if you were interested in contributing to the family in any other way, please feel free to reach out to Laura Lamonde or Jayme Solomon. Anything you are willing to donate or contribute will be graciously accepted - a little contribution can't necessarily change the world, but it can change somebody's world!
