Shhh.. Ling doesn't know we are raising funds for her.
Ling began training BJJ 2 years ago and recently earned her blue belt. From day one, she set her mind to growing her skills and improving physically. Her dedication to BJJ and her family is unwavering. She is the type of student that shows up every day and inspires her teammates to be better. To watch her journey is to be inspired. She went from a new white belt that was afraid to roll with anyone larger than her to a fighter that would give anyone a challenging roll.
This weekend, Ling competed in her first tournament. For the past several months she has been working hard to prepare. Specifically, she excels at Judo throws so she has been working hard to add them to her BJJ game. When her first match started, she immediately got her grips, cross stepped, turned and executed a perfect Hip Throw (O goshi). Unfortunately, during the throw and subsequent fall, she broke her leg in 2 places.
Now, she is waiting for surgery on her leg. She does have insurance and a very supportive family but she will have trouble going to work for a while and there will be medical bills. We expect that her recovery time will take about 6 months after her surgery. Although she is not asking for money, we want to reach out to the BJJ community to help her in this time of need. We want to show her how many people care for her, respect her and want to show up to help her.
Please show Ling how much you care and donate what you can.
