Lindys Dream

I have been fighting breast cancer since 2006. I was a 24 year old mother of 2 (15 month old daughter and a 3 year old son).  My cancer is a very agressive type and I underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, reconstructive surgery and radiation therapy the first time.  After six months of treatment, my strength returned and I was cancer free. I threw myself into my family, returned to school to earn my BSN in nursing.  In 2010 I became pregnant with my third child.  I was enrolled in the Nurse Anesthetist Program,which was a dream of mine.  My third trimester I knew something was amiss.  As soon as my son was born (God blessed me with a healthy baby boy!) a CT scan confirmed my worst nightmare.  My breast cancer metastasized to my lung, sternum and ribs.  My prognosis was extremly poor but GOD led me to a wonderful doctor at Barnes Hospital who has pulled out all the stops to keep me alive for my children. I WANT TO SEE MY CHILDREN GROW UP!!  I cherish every second I have with them.
