Hope, Fight, Win for Lindsey

Lindsey was diagnosed with breast cancer on September 8th, 2017, nine days after her 33rd birthday. It was a total shock and a real life changing event for herself and her family. Life quickly became a whirlwind of doctors apointments, procedures, and tests to get the best treatment started, as quickly as possible.

She had surgery on September 25th to have her chemo port implanted, and three days later, she started chemotherapy. She has continued working and trying to keep life as normal as possible for her children. Lindsey underwent a unilateral mastectomy and sentinel lymph node dissection on December 21st and was out of work for six weeks. She continued chemo on January 25th and will go every 3 weeks through the end of September, when she'll switch to a daily chemo pill for a year. Starting April 16th she will undergo daily rounds of radiation for a total of 28. She will also have more surgeries in the future. Michael, Lindsey, Landon, and Maddie are grateful to anyone who can help make this time easier. Lindsey fights fatigue and other symptoms. The family is so appreciative for all the kindness and help!

Lindsey is married and the mother of two young children. Explaining to a 6 and 11 year old that their mother has breast cancer was an incredibly difficult task. They have all been devastated by this diagnosis and the ongoing and upcoming treatments. Lindsey lost her hair two weeks after chemo started and has been battling all of the side effects of chemo while still trying to maintain her employment as a teacher's assistant at her children's school.
It has been very hard on their family, emotionally and financially.

As you can imagine, there will be continued, significant medical bills as she goes through this process as well as the time away from work.
Our goal of $15,000 is over the span of the next couple of years, and beyond, to help offset medical costs and extra expenses, to help out for the days when she is unable to work after chemo, radiation treatments, and surgery.
