From Lindsey..
"Ok so here goes:

I have lymphoma.

I will start chemotherapy tomorrow.

Here's how it started - On September 27th I noticed a weird bright discoloration under my breasts. It looked like spider veins or possibly a bruise so I figured my bra was too tight and stopped wearing one. On October 27th my face blew up - see first picture - and I went into urgent care at St. Michaels/Ascension and they told me I was just having an allergic reaction, prescribed me some antihistamines and ibuprofen and sent me home.

Everyday since then I have had facial swelling and this odd discoloration on my chest, the veins appeared to be spreading and darkening and last week I kept getting more and more spells of lightheadedness. On Sunday my face was at its' largest and I almost fainted in the living room. Kailey suggested we go back to the ER so they can get a real look at what was going on.

They admitted me and took an x-ray of my chest to discover that I have a mass that is 13 cm across right behind my sternum that is putting a lot of pressure on the veins in my chest/neck and causing a lot of swelling. It is a condition called SVC. They didn't tell me much but suggested that I get transferred to another hospital where we could learn what we were dealing with.

I rode in an ambulance to Marshfield and they admitted me and not long after I was able to speak with an oncologist. He told me that I probably have lymphoma and would need more testing done to reveal what was actually going on. On Monday 11/16 I got a biopsy of my mass taken - still awaiting official results. I had some blood tests ran to try to narrow down what form of lymphoma I have. The blood didn't point to anything specific but that everything was in a normal range. Today I had a PET scan which showed that for now it looks to not have spread to anywhere else. I am sorry this is not more technical as I have already typed this out once and facebook decided to delete my entire post.

Unofficially I have been preliminarily diagnosed with B cell lymphoma and tomorrow I will start chemotherapy. I will receive my first dose over the course of 5 days which I will need to stay here while it is administered. Every three weeks I will need to come back to Marshfield and stay for 5 days while I get each session of chemotherapy. It seems that I have a 90 percent chance of these 6-8 sessions of chemo completely removing this mass and being able to be in remission within the next five years.

So here’s why I’m freaking out – cancer aside – I do not have any type of insurance. I don’t have a savings account. I will not be able to work for the next 6 to 8 months while on this chemotherapy and have no clue where to start. I don’t know if I can get unemployment, disability, some type of government assistance or anything! I need help and badly! My main concern right now is to keep my car payment current, along with other supplemental bills like car insurance, my phone bill, food for my fur babies, food for myself, and making sure my partner is not overwhelmed with not only having to pay my half of the rent but be able to take care of everything in our house as well!!! I will essentially be quarantined due to covid and a compromised immune system.

If you know of anything – government assistance, if I can collect unemployment, if I can get medicare/medicade, social security, I don’t know anything about this or what to do!! If you would like to donate to me (hopefully we will make a go fund me soon) ANYTHING TO HELP! I AM FREAKED OUT ENOUGH WITH THE CANCER BUT I NEED SOME FORM OF INCOME TO HELP KEEP MY FAMILY OUT OF DEBT. They keep saying I will get assigned a case worker but nobody has talked to me yet and I feel like I am already losing time to keep my monetarily situation afloat.

Urgently my chest is swelling a lot and now we are trying to get my pick line in so I can start chemo tonight. My hands are becoming larger and soon I fear I won’t be able to type so trying to get this out as fast as I can before I am even more stuck with needles and such.

Basically if you can message me advice, comfort, if you can donate anything to my venmo for now @patchage, or hopefully somebody with working hands can create me a go fund me just to keep some income in so my family doesn’t have to bear this burden alone because unfortunately I will be paying out of pocket for now for all the medications they will put me on once I am able to go home. I am unclear of all the details but I know I will be on blood thinners for a clot in my lung and antibiotics amongst a few other things I can’t remember at the moment.

Please please please share this post. Give me advice. Tell me you love and support me. ANYTHING IS OF HELP AT THIS TIME. I will try to update this as long as I can still type or text but for now I have swollen up A LOT in the past hour and they are rushing to start chemo very very soon. Again my venmo is @patchage, my messages are open, and if you want my address to send me care packages, cards or anything please message me or my family, I feel weird posting my address online in a public space like this. Thank you for your time and sorry if this post is confusing as I am rushing and freaking out because currently I am blowing up like the Michelin tire guy. Please keep me in your thoughts and share anything you know with me or my family if I am unable to respond.

Share this post and please don't be afraid to reach out and ask me more, I will respond as soon as I am able."
