My name is Lindsey and 10 years ago, I decided I wanted to do an ironman but didn't have a clue where to start... so in 2019 I did a half ironman at Castle Howard in York, then the world went a bit crazy for a while with Covid,  we lost pools and things were very uncertain for a while and I thought maybe I'll just have to let the dream go....

<div>But, I just knew I couldn't without at least giving it my best shot. So in September 2025, i just signed up to do the Nottingham Outlaw Ironman, so in exactly 6 months from today i will hopefully have completed my 1st ironman.

<div>I've decided to not wing this one and have a coach to help me with preparing my body physically and mentally and how to execute my training plan, which currently consists of training 6 days a week:

<div>This has steadily been increasing over the last 4 months and is building all the time.... you may have seen me running round the bay or on my bike around the town so now you know why!?

<div>There are so many reasons for me wanting to do this and there are 2 charities I'm going to raise money for. 
</div>

<div>The 1st is the Samaritans, I lost 2 good friends, Cheryl Leonard and Billy Beaumont who sadly took their own lives and I wanted to do something to honour their memory ❤️

<div>The other is Scarborough Sea Pool charity. I'm involved with this local charity to help get Scarborough back on the map by hoping to get the go ahead to raise funds for the sea pool to be built in Scarborough's South Bay again! The benefits for people to have a space to swim outdoors all year round will provide immeasurable benefits to people's mental health and physical well being and I believe that WE CAN make this happen for our town.

<div>The biggest challenge of all is to myself to prove to myself that I can do hard things. I've no idea until the day if I'll get through it all but I'll be giving myself the very best shot. I've self funded all of the races I've signed up for, new bike, turbo trainer etc and all money received week be split equally between the 2 charities.
