Lindsay's Road to Recovery

Hello, I’m Jane Ewing, Lindsay aka “Linzeh, Linz” Ewing’s sister.
Linz is having, in his words, an “Annus Horribilis”. It started last March when a pinched nerve in his neck forced him to park The Van for all of March & April, almost 9 weeks.
Now he is taking on the big “C”. Linz was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his colon a few months ago.
He underwent successful small and large bowel surgery to remove the tumour on August 21.
Linz suffered a setback a couple of weeks after surgery and had to be readmitted to hospital after developing an abscess. He underwent a procedure to drain the abscess and to have a drainage tube/apparatus attached which he will have to carry around for a minimum of three weeks. He has named it “Pod”.
He is out of hospital now but has been told by his Doctors that he’s looking at an additional 12 week recovery period.
As a lot of you know, Lindsay is known as the “MAN WITH THE VAN” in and around the Toronto Music Industry. Trust me when I say he is not happy about being unable to provide his unique service for the next few months.
Which brings me to the reason I’m asking for your help. Linz is a self-employed one man with a van show. Like so many other self-employed people, Lindsay does not have disability insurance. It’s expensive to insure yourself. Including his down time in March & April he’s going to be losing 20 weeks of income, a very significant amount.
The entertainment business tends to be cyclical and “Rainy Day Funds” get depleted during the slow times. Having had a look at his G0_TALENT records (his bookkeeper is my Mum!) Linz is looking at a $20,000 loss in wages this year.
The recovery process is stressful enough without having to worry about financial pressures, which is why I’m reaching out to ask for your help. My hope is with your help, we can raise $13,000 to help alleviate some of the stress involved with this battle.
