Service Dog for Rhonda

Donation protected
Let me tell you about my best friend! Little Riker is a Great Dane puppy who was born to be a service dog. Lindavey Danes is a family breeder of danes, and Rhonda is a wonderful woman that needs a support animal. These two were meant for each other! Riker, who is five months old, is ready to be trained as a Mobility Service Dog. Danes are strong, tall, and sturdy, making them perfect for this type of work. We just need help to get the professional training done!

Many people have seen the videos of a girl named Bella and her service dog George. There are so many other success stories of Great Danes being paired with veterans, those with Cerebral Palsy, PTSD, or autism. Lindavey Danes is donating a puppy to be trained, for use by Rhonda, a disabled senior with mobility issues. She has been on a waiting list for a service dog for two years; we have the puppy to donate, but need your help to provide the training.

Phase One will involve Obedience Training, basic and advanced commands, proper behavior in public settings, etc. Phase Two will concentrate on the dog learning to carry grocery bags, hold open doors, and especially to be a brace while on walks, climbing stairs, or managing crowded rooms. Excercise is what the doctor recommends for Rhonda, but she can't walk without fear of falling. A service dog will give her the mobility she needs to exercise and regain independence both inside her home and out.

We are setting a goal of $8000 to get Phase One and Two training done within a year. After that, we hope to add on Diabetic Alert scent training for the dog. MDT (Michigan Dog Training) has agreed to work with us on this project. They are a well respected service dog training center in Michigan. Please consider donating what you can to help us reach our goal. Thank you!
