Linda's Alzheimer's Care

Last year, our mother Linda, was diagnosed with Alzhemiers disease. Her conditions and symptoms quickly accelerated to the point that she was no longer able to care for herself or live in her home on her own.  While we (her sons, friends, & family)  assisted her with in-home care and prescribed medications, the symptoms of the disease rapidly increased, diminishing her mental cognative abilities, desicion making skills, problem solving abilities, and increased her short term memory loss. She is now losing the ability to identify & recognize the people closest to her, including immediate family and friends. This is the most painful.

Mom has been living in a Memory Care unit since June of 2017 in Sarasota, FL. As her condition and symptoms will only continue to advance, her treatment plan consists of experimental drugs to slow the progession of symptoms and maybe one day eliminate this horriable disease. Keeping her on a healthy diet, continuing to keep her physicaly and mentally active thru activities and social interactions with other residents, friends, and family, but most of all, keeping her safe, in a secure and supervised enviroment where this treatment plan can work for her are among our highest priorities.

This money will be spent on continuing the long-term care of our mother in the Memory Care home where she currently resides. Thank you in advance. We are hoping to keep her as comfortable as possible, in a reliable memory care unit where she can continue receiving the care and services she so desperately needs.
