Linda's Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected
It breaks our hearts to face Linda's current medical situation.  Here is her story and we humbly ask for any support possible

 Background:
In June 2016, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She underwent chemotherapy and a subsequent lumpectomy.  The doctors were convinced that with the lumpectomy they had achieved good borders and shortly afterward she was considered to be in remission (May of 2017).  Things had gone so well that they removed her port earlier than originally planned.

Unfortunately, Linda developed both diabetes and Neuropathy from the chemo treatments.  Early in 2018, she thought she had twisted/sprained her ankle due to the Neuropathy in her feet.  After much testing they discovered the cause of the pain was the cancer had metastasized to her bones and lungs and she was now considered to be Stage 4 .  She began Immunotherapy  to try and boost her body's natural ability to fight the cancer.  When tested after the first few treatments they felt the Immunotherapy was helping, so they allowed her to finish the full 6 rounds of this.  Unfortunately, the treatments she has undergone caused her bones to be weakened and she fell and shattered her ankle and shin early in the summer while out on a walk.  This injury has caused non-stop painful infections in her leg.

 Current Situation:
The Immunotherapy was deemed unsuccessful and in August they found that the cancer has spread to her brain.  Prior to the diagnosis she had been having horrible headaches (migraine x 1000).  They determined she would need 14 direct brain radiation treatments due to the number and size of the tumors.  The prognosis of this treatment was unknown due to every individual and their body responding differently.  At this point she is finally headache free!!!  Her latest scan a few weeks ago has not shown any more new cancer spots!!! Due to the constant infections since the surgery on her ankle the orthopedic will be removing the pins and rods next week to hopefully allow her leg to finally heal after many months.  Linda is currently continuing to receive chemo in cycles of 2 weeks on and 1 week off.  She made the decision after she began the brain radiation treatments that she could no longer continue to try and balance work and her health challenges.  She currently carries the medical insurance for her entire family.

 Our Ask:
For those that know Linda, she is a caring friend who always helps out any way she can.  She always puts her family and loved ones first and often times forgets to take care of herself.  Linda now needs financial help from her warriors.  Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated and please spread the word to others.
