About Linda:
I met Linda for the first time 3 years ago at an ASA meeting, that's African Student Association at Texas A&M University. Her energetic personality and big smile was so contagious that even the shiest person was left with no other choice than to have a blast! From her hospitality to her inclusivity, everyone departed after the meeting feeling special and appreciated.

Soon, we became good friends and began to serve together on the Praise Team at Covenant Family Church in College Station, Texas. Talk about a dynamo: a heart that was completely submitted to Christ; a mind that was constantly being renewed by the Word of God and was supported with actions; a body that would NOT stop dancing because it had found freedom through Christ; and a beautiful soprano voice that was bold yet humbled. Linda served as a daily reminder of what it meant to live a worship-filled life for God that was uninhibited regardless of the surroundings.

After long talks of whether or not Hillsong College was palpable, Linda called me up one December evening in 2013 and said, "God has called me to go to Hillsong College in Australia to study Worship Music. My hope is that I use what I learn and experience at Hillsong to go out and minister the message of Jesus Christ and help bring others to His kingdom." Her boldness and courage were so inspiring that night that she ended up empowering me more than she will ever realize. It was her declaration amidst reality to preach God to her situation rather than vice versa that captivated my attention most. I was reminded of all the Bible characters who we now consider great. They weren't great because they were extraordinary people. They were great because they were ordinary people who submitted themselves to an extraordinary God:as Linda was at the time exhibiting!

With a great calling comes great sacrifice(s). As Abraham moved in faith towards the land of Canaan and as David stepped in faith towards conquering Goliath, so is Linda actively working out her faith towards Hillsong College. Linda is currently working full-time to raise enough funds for a year's stay in Australia (cost of tuition, cost of living, cost of visas, accommodation fees, etc. approximate to about $21,888). The fact of the matter is that this road that Linda is embarking on is not easy, yet in it lies a great and heavenly reward! And for that very reason, she needs our help as her family, her friends, and her brothers and sisters in Christ.

When asked about the greatest lesson she has learned so far through her journey to Hillsong College, Linda says, "[T]he most beautiful thing I've learned on my journey so far is that with God I don't have to depend on my own strength and understanding. He will always be here to guide me and help me do greater things than I could even imagine for myself." Linda encourages all of us to choose the higher calling in our individual lives and choose to live in God's great, big story instead of the periphery story presented by the world.
