Linda Hilton's End-of-Life Support Fund
Donation protected
It is with a very heavy heart that I am starting this fund raising campaign on behalf of my mother (Linda Hilton) and her husband Greg Hilton (pictured with my daughter, their only grandchild, Evelyn).
My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in October, 2018 and has been fighting it heroically and without complaint ever since. Prior to this diagnosis, Linda has had multiple debilitating and painful diagnoses and accidents/falls with broken bones and hospitalizations, far too many for one person to ever have to endure.
On March 31st, 2020, Linda was released from the U of M Hospital for the final time after four days of suffering severe abdominal pain caused by the cancer. Hospice has now taken over her end-of-life care at home. Her husband Greg is her only care giver as I am not able to fly back from California due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It absolutely breaks my heart that I'm not able to be with my mother during this time or for her not to see her only grandchild one more time before she passes.
Greg has stopped working so that he can take care of Linda full-time. Their household and medical bills are already too much for them to handle. In addition, there are mounting medical bills and impending costs associated to burial and funeral services (which most likely will need to take place sometime next year due to the pandemic situation). All of this financial and emotional stress is becoming too much for Linda and Greg to bear without additional support from family, friends and the community.
I am hoping that all of the volunteer work as well as all of the selfless and loving support that Linda has provided friends and family over the years will be recognized within the generosity shown within this fund raising campaign. Linda has earned and hopefully will be given the most comfortable and honorable end-of-life process possible.
I will provide updates regarding Linda and Greg's situation along the way. Your support and compassion during this extremely difficult time is very much appreciated and I am confident your support will be returned in countless other ways beyond our thanks and gratitude.
Thank you,
Linda's son, Todd
