Linda Community School, Zambia

Linda Community School along with all other schools, colleges and universities in Zambia were closed on March 20th.The school re-opened in June for the grade 7 and 9 exam classes, with the rest of the school returning in mid-September. Zambia has 19,000 reported covid cases and 368 deaths as of Dec 15th.  The economy is operating pretty much as normal. The teacher and students wear masks and are diligent with hand washing. The team in our Edulution centre where tablets are used by several students during the day, sanitise the tablets between each class. There have been no reported cases in the school.

The e-learning classes run by Edulution in the school stopped for 3 months and Edulution used this time to give further training to the coaches (using Zoom and Google docs). The Edulution programme has become an essential extra curriculum feature of the school and with the tracking function of the programme we can see a significant shift in the math capabilities of the children on the programme.

We hope you can continue to support the programme as we move in 2021 and with your kind donations, we will continue to provide the children in Linda Compound a chance of a good education and to break to cycle of poverty and dependence.

We thank all our donors and supports for your continuing support and wish you all a Happy Christmas. We hope you can all stay safe as we look forward to a less dramatic 2021.
