Lincs Dobermann Rescue pup TROOPER

Tax deductible
We at Lincs Dobermann Rescue were asked to help a young puppy. He had problems with his front legs which made it impossible for him to behave like a puppy. We jumped into action to get this young boy into our care. Day 2 we were off to the vets to get a prognosis. Sadly it wasn't the news we wanted. Right Leg: The growth plates and smaller bones in his joint have fused together. So there is no treatment/surgery option to allow him to be able to use this leg. Only option is amputation of the leg. Left Leg: The tendons in the left leg are very weak. The bones are good but there is no certainty that the tendons will be able to take the strain of being the only limb on the front. OPTIONS: 1) PTS 2) Amputate the right leg and get working on his left leg to build up the strength. This would require Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy and then they could only give me a guarded chance of success.... As a team made the decision.  Our decision was to give him a chance. We have asked them to amputate the right leg and we'll do everything it takes to get his left leg strong. So earlier on today we asked the vets to remove his limb. We just had to give him a chance. This wasn't due to a birth condition but by being over exercised or poor diet. It won't be an easy journey for him and we will need funds to get him where he should be but we have to do it. He's been let down already and we are not going to add to that now. So he will stay in the vets for a minimum of 24 hours and updates will be shared along his journey during the course of this fundraiser.   Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. We are hoping to raise the full amount to cover his vet bill. More information about Lincs Dobermann Rescue Charity: A National Charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming the beautiful Dobermann breed; we travel the length and breadth of the UK rescuing and rehoming Dobies in need. We do not import dogs into our rescue as from our own experience, there are lots of dogs in need of rescue / rehoming support within the UK so we maintain our focus here. Often a dog will arrive with us completed traumatised by their past life and we provide behavioural and veterinary support prior to rehoming.
