Lina Cabaero Women Scholarship

In Memory of Lina Cabaero
February 14, 1961 - August 8, 2021
Our mother Lina spent most of her lifetime fighting and campaigning for people’s rights. She has spent all her life representing marginalised communities, not only through her fiery words, but through action. May it be actively participating in movements against Martial Law back in the Philippines, or empowering underprivileged women through organisations such as Asian Women at Work in Australia, she always led a life of service and commitment.
She had fought pancreatic cancer with this same fire for over a year and a half, but this didn’t stop her from being a woman advocating for others until the end. Though she has passed away, I know that she is still with all of us in our hearts.
Our mum would be very delighted to know that her memory and her work continues to help those in need even after she is gone.
That is why in lieu of flowers, we would like to honour her through establishing a memorial scholarship fund in her name - “Lina Cabaero Women Scholarship”, We would greatly appreciate a donation to support young, deserving women.
Our mum was a woman of words and wit, but she is ultimately a woman of meaningful action. I hope that you could help us in continuing her legacy.
