Limni wildfire victim fund for Garyfallou family

Hello Everyone,

This is fundraising for my parents, Vangelis and Stella Garyfallou, who lost everything during the wildfire at Limni. Limni is a village in the northern part of Evia island, which is the second biggest island in Greece.

On Friday the 6th of August, after the fire had been burning the northern part of Evia island for more than 5 days, it moved towards the settlement of Limni. More than 400,000 acres of land have been burned, and the villagers were instructed to leave everything behind and evacuate their village. Till yesterday, August the 11th, due to strong winds, there were still new spot fires that we were trying to put out with the means that we had, our vehicles and some water buckets.

Under these circumstances my parents lost their home, their business and their olive trees crops, leaving them with no means to restart their lives other than their hope and courage to restore life in a place where everything turned to ashes.

Currently my family receives basic supplies from distributing points along with all the families that were stroke from the wildfire, but it will take something more to help them stand on their feet again.

Funds will be used for the restoration of the burned house and business [motorbikes service point], tools, and olive crops replant, personal belongings, etc.

Any support will be greatly appreciated as it will bring my parents closer to having a place to call home again.✌
