Lily's Little Ray of Sunshine

At the end of yr 11, 16 year old Lily was sent for an emergency surgery after her appendix ruptured. She developed life threatening complications which lead to a chronic, painful illness called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a 7 month stint at the Neuroscience Centre at the Mater Hospital in what was supposed to be her final year of schooling. Unfortunately FND means Lily's brain shuts down forcing her to become paralysed from the neck down and causes constant seizures. Lily can also become mute and communicates with her family by blinking. This usually lasts for weeks at a time.

Due to Lily's condition, her mother has been forced to give up her job and struggles to pay for the regular hospital bills and everyday expenses.

Any money raised would be greatly appreciated by Lily and her family, and can provide further support for Lily's recovery.

Lily desperately needs Specialist Medical treatment - also other costs incurred with long hospital admissions.
For the past four weeks, Lily has been mute, paralysed from the neck down and having multiple daily seizures.
She had hoped to study medicine after leaving school, but will instead be learning how to walk and talk again.
