Lilly's Battle With Cancer

Donation protected
My Aunt Lilly has been through so much in her battle with cancer. When she was just 21 years old she was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. Leaving her to have to make the painstakingly decision to undergo a radical hysterectomy. After 5 years of being cancer free she decided to adopt her first son Wil, and four years later to adopt her second son Harrison. Suddenly after having her moment in paradise with her family, in early spring of 2019 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Taking into consideration, her mother passed away from breast cancer years prior and her own bout with cancer she was considered 47% high risk. To save her life so she could be there for her boys' futures, with her medical team, she agreed to undergo 2 medical procedures that would allow more healing time and less of a invasive surgery. Unfortunately, it did not go according to plan as the 2nd procedure turned into a 15 hour surgery where she nearly lost her life. Upon waking up she was made aware that she would need another procedure in order to complete what was suppose to be the 2nd and final surgery.  In December of 2019 , Aunt Lilly under went the final procedure , all went according to plan. As a family we were all looking forward to putting this difficult time to rest. On January 22nd, 2020, she received a gut wrenching phone call from the genetics doctor saying, that she had tested positive for ovarian cancer gene. Also during this difficult time, the implant for the last breast surgery broke away from her pectoral muscle, leaving her left breast deformed. With in a one week time-span, she met with a Gynecological Oncologist and her Reconstructive-Plastic surgeon. The decision was made with the Oncologist to operate and remove the ovaries along with fallopian tubes robotically as she was once again considered high risk given her personal medical history and her family history with cancer. The following day she met with her reconstructive-plastic surgeon, and was told she would need another surgery to correct the deformity in the left breast. March of 2020 she under went surgery to have the ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. Once recovered, she will undergo her last surgery to correct the deformity in her left breast. With in the last year my Aunt has gone through 4 surgeries and will need an additional surgery to correct her breast. Although my aunt has insurance, she has a $7,500 maximum out of pocket deductible; being that we just started a new year she will be hit again  with another $7,500 deductible leaving her out $15,000. Having been in and out of the hospital  with all these procedures she has not received a full salary as she has had to go on short term disability. She has depleted her savings while trying  maintain a household and to provide for two young  children. My Aunt Lilly is one of the strongest people I know; she as always been the one to take care of everyone in the family. Seeing her in this position breaks my heart as I know she needs all the help she can get but is not the one to ask for help. Any donation is appreciated in her time of need as she already has a  continuously multitude of bills coming in.
