Lilly's Legs - IVDD
Donation protected
The Baranello family is devastated. One of their littlest and most vibrant members is facing a very painful and uncertain future.
The family rescued both Lilly and Molly from local shelters. Lilly was adopted only a couple of years ago. In that time, the two pups have developed a strong bond and have become inseparable.
The humans in the household have experienced love and laughter with the addition of these two furry souls. The Baranello children, two teenage boys, rely on Lilly and Molly when times are tough and to cheer them up from a bad mood.
Jennifer, the mom of this motley brood, has fallen head over heels with Lilly and Molly (as any mother would) and is heartsick over this latest development.
Lilly was diagnosed with IVDD (Inter-vertebral Disc Disease). It has affected this spunky little girl's spine leaving her back legs paralyzed. It is heartbreaking to watch her try to get around and the family has run out of home-remedy options to relieve her pain.
There are two routes worth investigating, but both are costly. This is a hard working, blue collar family who has never asked a soul for a penny in their lives. However, the thought of losing one of their beloved fur babies is just too much to bear. As one of their oldest friends, I am not shy about requesting help on their behalf.
The first option is to try acupuncture and a holistic approach. That being said, it’s still on the expensive side, and can cost as much as $2,000.
The second option, which the vet is pushing, is surgery which will cost at least $8,000. The family just can't even think about that type of expenditure.
All proceeds from this GoFundMe will go directly to the family to cover the cost of additional imaging, diagnosis and treatment. The first line of treatment will be to consult with the Holistic Veterinarian to try acupuncture, etc. Plan B will be to pursue the surgical treatment. They are making arrangements to take Lilly to the Holistic vet ASAP. And of course, the vets all require a deposit before they will do anything - so time is of the essence!!!
Please find it within your heart to donate to help the Baranellos save Lilly's life. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. The Baranellos thank you all and wish you "God bless."
