Liliana's Leukemia Recovery Funds

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

My family is facing an unfortunate and unprecedented situation. Recently, my sister Liliana Paez, whom just turned 20, was suddenly diagnosed with Leukemia. After bone marrow exams confirmed the cancer, her doctors immediately placed her on a two-year chemotherapy treatment plan.

Liliana is an aspiring medical social worker at the California State University of Fullerton. As a first generation college student, daughter of immigrant parents, and DACA-mented beneficiary, Liliana has already exceeded various obstacles to get where she’s at today. However, this one has taken a great physical and emotional toll on her. The chemotherapy side effects have caused her manic bipolar episodes.

While she is undergoing this arduous treatment, they strongly urge that a caretaker be by her side at all times. As the only person available in my family to do this, my mother recently quit her job in order to fulfill these responsibilities. She is a single mother, so my sister and I, who both still live at home while we attend college, heavily depended on her previous income for rent, bills, and food. My mother has worked restless days and countless hours to help us attend college. However, with the health of her only daughter in jeopardy, she’s had to make difficult decisions and sacrifices.

Liliana hopes to recover soon and continue her dream of attaining a college education. Not just for herself, but her mother.

For these reasons, we sincerely ask for any assistance you could provide. Any help will extremely alleviate our transition while Liliana Recovers. Thank you.
