Lilac Hedge Farm Fire Assistance

On April 3, 2018 our good friends at Lilac Hedge Farm, LLC (located in Jefferson, MA) had every farmer's nightmare come true: a barn fire.
Their animals and people are safe thanks to the quick work of the first responders from Rutland, Holden, and surrounding areas. However, the portion of their barn lost will be an incredibly large setback for them as they enter their busiest parts of their 2018 season.
The portion of their barn lost housed many necessary materials for their animals as well as part of their grain storage, housing for some of their littlest animals, and most importantly their well pump. At this time, they are without water on the farm. They are fortunate their delivery of broiler chicks arrived this afternoon after the fire as they would have been a part of the loss.
Animals have alternate housing on the farm, but this will be a large blow to their farm financially and will take incredible labor hours to work through. This barn was an old building existing from their purchase of the property in 2015 that was unable to be insured. However, a rebuild and recoup of supplies lost is necessary and time is of the essence. Lilac Hedge Farm does everything necessary to support other farmers when they need it, so at this time we are asking folks to do the same for them.
Please consider donating what you are able to help them work through this incredible loss. Funds will go to a plethora of things but the first will be a pump for the well to ensure they can access water for their hundreds of animals on the farm. Other supplies that need to be replaced to complete their day-to-day include brooder items, breeding supplies (their semen tank was lost in the fire), feeding and watering materials, and more.
Updates will be provided as progress is made on the farm to overcome this unbelievable obstacle they have been handed.
