Like Water They Flow - on the road documentary

Hello,
my name is Marianna.
I am glad to share with you all the story of Like Water They Flow, a documentary on-the-road at the discovery of the handpan, a metal idiophone musical instrument born in Switzerland in 2001. In a camper converted into a mobile recording studio, a small production of filmmakers and musicians will interview and film handpan experts and lovers, sharing with sounds and images the beauty of this instrument.
The wonderful places surrounded by nature will be the setting for the entire duration of the route. Salvatore, musician and music therapist, will guide us with his camper van throughout the journey, sharing his personal experience with the instrument and its sound potentials. The production will cross Italy. The journey will last 15 days, from the 17th of August to the 5th of September.
We will leave from Naples and we will arrive at Berna, Switzerland, passing through Rome, Florence, Milan, and the Alps.
At each stage of the journey, the troupe will find out stories of various characters who have seen their lives change thanks to this instrument. Between melodies and jam sessions, the documentary wants to give free voice to all those who, through known or unknown ways, have become in tune with this musical instrument and are still discovering the potential of its sound.
The fund will be used to cover all the travel expenses of this journey and help the crew during the post-production process. Your help and support will mean a lot to us as we are a small and independent film production.
Each donator will be added in the credits list and will have the chance to watch a preview of the film when it will be ready and complete.

We are sure that the documentary will benefit not only the worldwide handpan community but also musicians and travelers that like us believe in the power of music, nature, and slow traveling.
The documentary also intends to observe Italian and Swiss places through the eyes of the four characters. The result will also be a personal and collective travel diary in search of places and emotions that only the dimension of traveling can give off.
Moving from one place to another, we will discover how dynamic the instrument can be depending on the context in which it is placed. By showing the potentials of the handpan we will have the opportunity to open new horizons on the power of music and music therapy.

Sono lieta di condividere con tutti voi la storia di Like Water They Flow, documentario on the road alla scoperta dell'handpan, uno strumento musicale idiofono metallico nato in Svizzera nel 2001. In un camper trasformato in studio di registrazione mobile , una piccola produzione di registi e musicisti intervisterà e filmerà esperti e appassionati di handpan, condividendo con suoni e immagini la bellezza di questo strumento.
I meravigliosi luoghi immersi nella natura faranno da cornice per tutta la durata del percorso. Salvatore, musicista e musicoterapeuta, ci guiderà con il suo camper durante tutto il viaggio, condividendo la sua personale esperienza con lo strumento e le sue potenzialità sonore. La produzione attraverserà l'Italia e il viaggio durerà 15 giorni, dal 17 Agosto al 5 Settembre. Partiremo da da Napoli fino ad arrivare a Berna, in Svizzera, passando per Roma, Firenze, Milano e le Alpi.
Ad ogni tappa del viaggio, la troupe scoprirà storie di vari personaggi che hanno visto cambiare la loro vita grazie a questo strumento. Tra melodie e jam session, il documentario vuole dare voce libera a tutti coloro che, attraverso vie conosciute o sconosciute, sono entrate in sintonia con questo strumento musicale e stanno ancora scoprendo le potenzialità del suo suono.
I fondi verranno utilizzati per coprire tutte le spese di viaggio di questo viaggio e aiutare la troupe durante il processo di post-produzione. Il tuo aiuto e supporto significheranno molto per noi, poiché siamo una piccola produzione cinematografica indipendente. Siamo sicuri che il documentario andrà a beneficio non solo della comunità mondiale di handpan, ma anche di musicisti e viaggiatori che come noi credono nel potere della musica, della natura e del viaggio lento.
Tutti i donatori della raccolta fondi verranno aggiunti ai titoli di coda del documentario e avranno la possibilità di guardare il prodotto audivisivo in anteprima.

Il documentario intende anche osservare i luoghi italiani e svizzeri attraverso gli occhi dei quattro personaggi. Il risultato sarà anche un diario di viaggio personale e collettivo alla ricerca di luoghi ed emozioni che solo la dimensione del viaggio può sprigionare.
Spostandoci da un luogo all'altro, scopriremo quanto può essere dinamico lo strumento a seconda del contesto in cui viene collocato. Mostrando le potenzialità dell'handpan avremo l'opportunità di aprire nuovi orizzonti sul potere della musica e della musicoterapia.
