Lift Up Leigh Anne

Donation protected

Out of the blue, Leigh Anne was diagnosed with a melanoma tumor in her eye. She is now in a whirlwind of more photos, doctors appointments and full body CT scans to see if the cancer has spread to any other areas of her body.

This coming week she will have a PET scan done, on her entire body, to make sure that the cancer has not spread to any other parts of her body.

She currently has been given two treatment options-
1. To remove the entire eye or
2. Insert a plaque surgically into the eye to radiate the tumor, then go in a week later and surgically remove the plaque. This option has up to a 95% success rate, but it is slow and the tumor will be monitored closely over the next 5 years.

Her tumor is located near the optic nerve, so unfortunately, the radiation will damage it and she will ultimately lose her vision in that eye.

In receiving this news, we have also learned that Leigh Anne no longer has medical insurance, to help cover the astronomical cost of her treatments.

Despite this, she is moving forward with her treatment and will have her first eye surgery, November 2, 2017.

We know that the cost of such catastrophic events can financially devastate anyone and we are asking for any help you can contribute to help off-set Leigh Anne's medical costs.
