B Cell Lymphoma Bustin’ Boot Camp for Abbi Sarabyn

Anytime Fitness Westfield is hosting a workout fundraiser to benefit Abbi Sarabyn, our beloved trainer’s sister, who was just diagnosed with primary mediastinal B-Cell lymphoma.

Primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma is a subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. This type of lymphoma occurs mostly in young women. It starts in the mediastinum (the area in the middle of the chest behind the breastbone). It can grow quite large and can cause trouble breathing because it often presses on the windpipe (trachea) leading into the lungs. It can also block the superior vena cava (the large vein that returns blood to the heart from the arms and head), which can make the arms and face swell. This is a fast-growing lymphoma, but it usually responds well to treatment.

Abbi is 22 years old. She is a neuroscience major at IUPUI, where she just completed her sophomore year. Her plans include attending medical school.

Our event will take place on Friday, July 12th at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. All monetary donations made as well as proceeds from the event will go to the Sarabyn family.
