Help support our campaign to lift the ban on work for people seeking asylum. The Sheffield Lift the Ban campaign is a coalition, made of almost 300 organisations, businesses, trade unions, local authorities and faith groups across the UK who are calling on the UK government to give people seeking asylum the right to work, unconstrained by the Shortage Occupation List, after they have waited six months for a decision on their initial asylum claim or further submission. We rely on donations to carry out our campaign work and to ensure the campaign remains inclusive of people with lived experience. For example, your donations mean that we can pay for travel and food expenses so that people seeking asylum can directly participate in our campaign. We will be having a fundraising concert on the 22nd November at Arts in the Right Place and would love you to come along, which you can buy tickets to through this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lift-the-ban-fundraiser-tickets-1828799401239?msockid=16a1ec778ec565590809f8098f25643c. However, if you can't come to the event, please donate here! Whether big or small, your support will make an important difference and is greatly appreciated!
