My name is Mary Stirling Doherty and I am writing for Luke Stirling (27). Luke comes from a long line of Stirlings and our branch of the Stirling family comes with crippling anxiety. But along with this disabling condition Luke is intellectually curious, is industrious, creative, and is a gentle man with a tender heart. ("There are men too gentile to live with wolves" - James Kavanaugh.) Luke's dad has always suffered physical/mental impairments and was unable to give Luke love and guidance. His mother was a single mother (after divorce) raising 4 children and holding a job.
Luke's home life was wanting to put it mildly and on top of that he was horribly bullied. Classmates would throw food at him at lunch!. How humiliating! Luke suffers from Lipodystrophy resulting in a slight build.
Luke had a delivery job but ended up rupturing his knee and soon after his old car died and cant be salvaged. Luke is in a deep hole. He wants to find another job but this will require him to have a reliable car. He wants to attend Baker College's Culinary Arts program. Currently these plans are on hold re: lack of resources. I value Luke and I think he deserves to become a victor and not a victim.
