Lift for Chris

As a result of polio, I am now further debilitated by post polio syndrome. My strength and mobility are significantly compromised. I am only ambulatory in my home, and that is with extremely decreased mobility. I am only able to walk extremely slow and with extreme difficulty. My rate, form and fluidity are significantly impaired. When I am able to go out, I am confined to a scooter which must be lifted and put together by another person. In order to go out, I must use a ramp from my back door. I am not able to use stairs. Previously, I was able to get up and down the ramp. However, I am having extreme difficulty being able to access the ramp due to my limited capabilities and the pitch of the ramp. The pitch is necessary due to city building codes. I am fearful of falling and fearful of not being able to get back into my home if I do make it out. The pitch of the ramp is also too extreme to use a scooter to get up the ramp.  Also, I am not able to access the scooter without assistance, which further decreases my independence.
In order not to be permanently confined to my home, it is necessary to replace the ramp with an electric lift. The estimated cost of the lift exceeds my ability to acquire it on my own.
I would be so grateful for any financial support to replace the ramp with a lift that would permit me to resume the ability to live a normal, independent, happy lifestyle.
