My name is Richard Budigoma and I am fundraising to help my brother, Franck, who needs urgent surgery to repair his aortic and mitral valves within the next week or two. The total cost of the surgery is 18000 USD (approx. 13000 GBP).

Franck was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer 7 months ago in Burundi. As there are no oncology facilities in the country dealing with his condition, the family organised for his transfer to a Nairobi (Kenya) hospital where he underwent lengthy radiotherapy and chemotherapy, followed by a successful surgery.

He was into his last bout of post-op chemotherapy (3 out of 6 sessions) and the doctors were very happy with the outcome of his treatment. Franck was also looking forward to going back home to Burundi in a couple of months and be reunited with his 3 young children.

Unfortunately, he came down with a high fever last week, and further tests revealed damage to his heart caused by a bacterial infection (due to his weakened immune system). His cancer treatment has already cost almost 40000 USD and I am now humbly asking for your help. Any contribution, big or small will be greatly appreciated. Je m'appelle Richard Budigoma et j'organise une collecte de fonds afin de venir en aide à mon frère Franck, qui a besoin d'une intervention chirurgicale urgente afin de réparer ses valves aortique et mitrale, d'ici une semaine ou deux. Le coût total de l'intervention est de 18 000 USD (environ 13 000 Livres Sterling).

Franck est atteint d'un cancer colorectal, un diagnostic reçu il y a 7 mois au Burundi. Faute d'infrastructures d'oncologie adéquates, la famille a organisé son transfert dans un hôpital de Nairobi (Kenya) où il a subi une longue série de radiothérapie et de chimiothérapie, suivie d'une intervention chirurgicale réussie.

Il était presqu'au bout de sa chimiothérapie postopératoire (3 séances sur 6) et les médecins étaient très satisfaits des résultats globaux de son traitement. Il avait également hâte de rentrer chez lui au Burundi d'ici deux mois et retrouver ses 3 jeunes enfants.

Franck a malheureusement eu une forte fièvre la semaine dernière et des tests supplémentaires ont révélé des dommages à son cœur causés par une infection bactérienne (en raison de son système immunitaire affaibli). Son traitement anti-cancéreux a déjà coûté près 40000 USD et je sollicite humblement votre aide. Toute contribution, quel qu'en soit le montant, sera d'une aide précieuse et hautement appréciée.
