During the four years we have been in existence, Ark Ministries (a 501c3 Organization) has help thousands of needy and homeless families. We have helped families start a fresh chapter in their lives by supplying them with furniture, appliances, food, clothing and anything necessary to have a comfortable life with their children. We understood that God guided us to be simply more than a church, but a safe haven for people in need. In turn, Ark Ministries has shown itself to be a community-based church with a mission: To understand hurting people and the duty we carry to make a difference.
Exhausted at times we pushed and held our worship services and met as many needs as possible. Renting different locations without a place to call home, carrying donations from one location to another. Then God came through again! In February of 2017 we were donated a property located in Cicero, IL. The owner wanted to be part of our vision when he saw that we were meeting the needs of the people in The Town of Cicero and surrounding communities. There were some concerns; the property had back taxes that we would have to pay, and different repairs that the city had cited that needed to be repaired. Although we have done some work, we have yet to bring the building up to city code in order to continue our mission.
We continued our work alongside The Cicero Chaplains Commission and Town of Cicero; we still were part of “Mi Gracia Fest” where we give out hundreds of book bags, shoes, diapers and necessities for children. In 2017, we gave out 2,000 shoes and 1,000 book bags, 600 toys, and thousands of other items that made a difference in the lives of families.
This year we need your help to raise the funds to finish our goal and continue serving the many people that count on us. Some of whom could not afford to buy their children the supplies needed to return to school. Others that look to us for food and other necessities. This year we want to continue with our outreaches from our own building. Including our Spring break, Back to School Outreach, Thanksgiving Outreach, and winter coats to families, Christmas Outreach and many more. Please search your hearts and give whatever you can. We can do this together every little counts toward us meeting our goal.
