A New Life For Kai

Kai was spotted shortly after we moved into our new home in February. He was chubby and well-groomed, so I didn't think much about his visibly injured leg or that he routinely slept in our yard. It became more obvious that he was abandoned as time went on. I would see him every few weeks, much thinner, much mangier, and still unable to use his back left leg. He felt safe in our yard, he was friendly to my cats, and I started to feed him. I have been feeding Kai every morning for over 3 months. After many attempts to try and capture him, I finally did.

Kai is an unbelievably sweet boy who has suffered much in his short life. He has been broken, starved, abandoned, and in more pain than imaginable for a long period of time. But more importantly, he is strong, kind, and ready to start a new chapter.

I worked with animal control to try and trap Kai in the past. The workers told me that the city animal shelters simply would not put money into an older cat that has had a broken leg for several months. I am not willing to give up on Kai and am trying to take full responsibility for him.

With months on the street, there are obsticles we need to overcome with Kai's health. Kai is currently at the VCA animal hospital. I am trying to finance his medical bills.  A couple of dollars would go a long way.
