<div>He has the possibility of surgical intervention on November 25th in Caracas - Venezuela (Clinica Metropolitana) by cardiologist Dr. Carlos Calderas and a team of surgeons, including a hepatobiliary surgeon due to his liver being compromised by such a large aneurysm. The endovascular procedure costs over $35,000 out of pocket.

<div>Unfortunately, the ongoing crisis of the past 25 years in Venezuela has left everyone, including university professors like my dad, without a salary, savings, or health insurance. It's almost impossible to pay for surgery. Forbes reported that the annual inflation rate for Venezuela in 2018 was 80,000%!
</div>
<div>Additionally, due to the situation in Venezuela I have not seen my dad in over 10 years. I want him to have a future so I can be with him and for my two daughters to finally meet him!

<div>A mi papá, Ivan (70 años), le diagnosticaron un aneurisma enorme en la arteria hepática con riesgo eminente de ruptura con alta tasa de mortalidad.

<div>Tiene la oportunidad de ser intervenido quirúrgicamente el 25 de Noviembre en la Clínica Metropolitana de Caracas por el cardiólogo, Dr. Carlos Calderas. La cirugía requiere un equipo de médicos incluyendo un cirujano hepatobiliar ya que el hígado puede estar comprometido por el aneurisma.

<div>El procedimiento endovascular (cateterismo) tiene un costo de mas de $35,000. Desafortunadamente, la crisis en Venezuela de los últimos 25 años ha conllevado a sus ciudadanos, incluyendo a los profesores universitarios como mi papá, a quedarse sin salario, sin ahorros y sin seguro médico imposibilitando el pago. Además, por la situación en Venezuela no he podido volver a mi país ni ver a mi papá en mas de 10 años. Quiero darle un futuro para que conozca a sus dos nietas! Por eso, estoy recurriendo al apoyo de mi comunidad.
