You can help our son who urgently needs a new kidney! Here’s the story:
Our son, Jeremy Ingold, had a traumatic birth and the resulting lack of oxygen damaged his organs and especially his kidneys. He had intestinal surgery and was in the hospital for two months followed by another surgery at three months.
God healed him in many ways, yet the kidney damage remained. Jeremy is now 24 and in need of a kidney transplant.
God in his kindness and amazing provision has raised up a living donor for Jeremy, Laura Schultz.
Five years ago, Laura felt God strongly lay it on her heart that He would want her to donate one of her kidneys one day. When she heard of Jeremy’s situation, she volunteered to be tested to see if she could become a Living Donor for him.
After months of testing, Laura received the green light just this past week which approved her to be a perfect match and become a Living Donor for Jeremy! We are being told to expect May 2019 as the date for both surgeries at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
How You Can Help: Laura is from California and she and her family need to travel up to Seattle for this surgery. Laura’s costs are covered thankfully for the surgery and hospital stay through Jeremy’s insurance. But, her family is not covered for their flights, rental car, food, or accommodations for the two weeks to a month that they will need to be with Laura as she recovers from this surgery. We feel strongly that this beautiful gift Laura is giving should not be a financial burden to her or her family.
We are inviting you to help raise the necessary funds to help off-set this donor family’s costs. It’s the least we can do in an effort to say thank you to them for their daughter’s loving and life-saving gift of herself to literally save Jeremy’s life. We expect Laura’s decision to give up part of herself will give Jeremy many many more years to live!
Your contribution will provide support for Laura’s family and enable them to stay in Seattle as long as she needs to recover.
In talking over this GOFUNDME with the Schultz family, they requested that we include what our family might need as well.
We had not intended to fundraise for ourselves . Our insurance covers everything Jeremy will need including his travel, hospital stay, his housing after the surgery as he heals. It will also cover one caregiver to stay with him after surgery. But, it will not cover the hotel we need to stay in while Jeremy is in the hospital , meals at the hospital or the airfare to fly Jeremy’s brother Micah up to Seattle for the surgery. Although we’re looking into other possibilities for housing in the area, ie: staying with friends if possible, we are including what we need in this balance as well.
