<div>Meine Schwester Annett steht derzeit vor der größten Herausforderung ihres Lebens und ich möchte sie dabei unterstützen.

<div>Annett ist Mutter von zwei kleinen Töchtern im Alter von zwei Jahren und zehn Wochen. Die beiden bedeuten ihr die Welt und sie würde alles für sie tun. Ihr größter Wunsch ist es, noch viele Jahre für sie da zu sein.

<div>Im August letzten Jahres tastete Annett einen Knoten in ihrer Brust. Besorgt suchte sie sofort einen Arzt auf, der war nach einer Ultraschalluntersuchung jedoch nicht beunruhigt und wollte sich die Brust noch einmal ansehen, sobald Annett ihre älteste Tochter nicht mehr stillt. Im September verkündete Annett überglücklich, dass sie wieder schwanger war. Sie machte sich jedoch weiterhin Sorgen um den Knoten in ihrer Brust - der Arzt war weiterhin unbesorgt. Im Dezember beschloss sie, einen anderen Arzt aufzusuchen, der untersuchte ihre Brust und diagnostizierte aggressiven Brustkrebs, der bereits in die Lymphknoten metastasiert hatte und über 7 cm groß war.

<div>Für Annett brach eine Welt zusammen, aber sie hoffte, dass die Chemotherapie ihr zumindest noch ein paar Jahre mit ihrer Familie schenken und ihrem ungeborenen Kind nicht schaden würde. Nach einer Weile machte sie sich jedoch zunehmend Sorgen, dass die Chemotherapie nicht wirkte, da ihre Brust schmerzte und es keine Anzeichen für eine Rückbildung gab.

<div>Die Gespräche mit den Ärzten wurden ernster; Annett befürchtete, dass sie bereits an Krebs im Endstadium litt. Im Mai brachte sie ihre zweite Tochter zur Welt, jedoch voller Angst, dass sie bald sterben und ihre Kinder nicht aufwachsen sehen würde. Gleichzeitig war sie erleichtert, dass ihre neugeborene Tochter gesund war. Nur einen Tag nach der Geburt musste sie sich Krebs-Staging-Untersuchungen und dann auch wieder Chemo- und Immuntherapie unterziehen. Es war schwer das alles durchzustehen, während sie ihr Baby zurücklassen musste und keine Zeit hatte, sich zu erholen. Zwei Wochen nach der Geburt unterzog sie sich einer schwierigen Operation, bei der ihr die Brust entfernt und zahlreiche Lymphknoten entnommen wurden. Die Pathologie bestätigte, dass die Krankheit trotz Chemotherapie fortgeschritten war, mit einem 9 cm großen Tumor und 19 krebsbefallenen Lymphknoten. Die Ärzte betonen ihre sehr schlechte Prognose. Es ist unglaublich schwer, mit solch einer Angst umzugehen - besonders wenn Annett ihre Kinder ansieht.

<div>Aufgeben ist für sie jedoch keine Option, daher recherchierte sie intensiv, um etwas zu finden, das ihr Hoffnung geben würde –  sie wurde fündig! Im Ausland ist man bei der Erprobung erfolgreicher Immunzelltherapien bei Krebspatienten weit voraus. Annett hat eine Therapie gefunden, an die sie glaubt, und möchte mit ihrer Familie ins Ausland reisen, um sich dieser zu unterziehen. Leider kostet die Therapie rund 100.000 Euro.

<div>Bevor Annett ihre Diagnose erhielt, hatten sie und ihr Mann Tim mit dem Bau eines Hauses begonnen. Aufgrund der Situation arbeiten beide derzeit nicht. Tim kümmert sich um die Kinder, während Annett Chemotherapie, Strahlentherapie, Operation, Untersuchungen und andere Behandlungen durchstehen muss und mit all den Nebenwirkungen zu kämpfen hat. Es ist eine große Herausforderung für die beiden, aber sie versuchen positiv zu bleiben.

<div>My sister, Annie, is currently facing the toughest challenge of her life, and I want to support her.

<div>She is a mother to two young daughters, aged two years and ten weeks. The girls mean the world to her, and she would do anything for them. Her greatest wish is to be there for them for many years to come.
</div>

<div>In August last year, she felt a lump in her breast. Worried, she went to the doctor straight away. After an ultrasound scan, the doctor said he wasn’t worried and that he would take a look at it once she had stopped breastfeeding her eldest daughter. In September, she was overjoyed to announce that she was pregnant again. However, she continued to worry about the lump, whereas the doctor did not. In December, she decided to see another doctor, who examined her breast and diagnosed her with aggressive breast cancer that had metastasised in the lymph nodes and was already over 7 cm.

<div>Annie's world fell apart, but she hoped that chemotherapy would give her at least a couple of years with her family and wouldn't harm her unborn baby. However, she became increasingly worried after a while that the chemotherapy was not working, as her breast became painful and there was no sign of regression.

<div>Conversations with doctors became more serious; Annie was worried that she already had terminal cancer. Annie gave birth in May, fearful that she would die soon and not live to see her children grow up. At the same time, she was relieved that her newborn daughter was healthy. Just one day after giving birth, she had to undergo cancer staging scans and examinations, as well as chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It was tough to do all this while leaving the baby behind and with no time to recover. Two weeks after the birth, she underwent difficult surgery involving a mastectomy and lymph node dissection. The pathology confirmed that the disease had progressed despite chemotherapy, with a tumor measuring 9 cm and 19 cancerous lymph nodes. The doctors emphasized her very poor prognosis. It is incredibly hard to cope with such fear, especially when she looks at her children.

<div>However, giving up is not an option for Annie, so she did a lot of research to find something that would give her hope — and she found it! Overseas they are way ahead in testing successful immune cell therapies on cancer patients. She has found a therapy in which she has complete faith, and she wants to travel with her family to undergo it. Unfortunately, the therapy costs around €100,000.
</div>

<div>Before Annie was diagnosed, she and her husband Tim started building a house. Because of the situation both are not working at the moment. Tim is looking after the children while Annie undergoes chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, examinations and other treatments, as well as dealing with all the side effects. It is very challenging for them, but they are trying to stay positive.
