FIGHTING TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY
Donation protected
A few years ago I fell and hit my head at work on concrete and developed a subdural hematoma. The bleeding was so bad my brain was pushed off center by almost a half inch. There is not a half inch of space in your Skull for the brain to move. When I hit the floor the impact on the back of my head was so quick and hard my brain bounced against my front of my cranium. I now experience severe panic attacks that can feel like heart attacks. My focus and ability to think clearly become clouded I hope you can excuse my use of words while writing this. My ability to talk has been reduced to a stammer, trouble with word finding and severe head aches like the one I have right now. When that eases it becomes a constant dull ache. The pressure in my head was so bad it damaged my eye sight went from 20-20 vision to almost night blindness and near sightedness. I have been trying to return to work. Due to workers compensation finding a doctor that said I am ok. And have been forced to accept social security disability. I have even applied at places like Mcdonalds with no luck. I Have had contact with many volunteer organizations just to do anything that would prove I can be a USEFUL ASSET to whom ever would give me a chance. I have been turned down by them as well. I have tried to contact celebrities not for a hand out but to try and find some work and have been ignored. I guess a brain injury carries a stigma that scares people.
I have even signed up for a social security program called Ticket To Work.
I am not a freeloader and I am not the type to beg. I live in a remote area because being around too many people can cause panic attacks. I can not drive in the cities even small towns and villages cause some issues.
I have two horses that you might think are unessesary and should be sold. I don't know if you are able to believe this, my horses keep me grounded. I care for them and if you come see us interact my babies really care for me. I need to relocate for far too many reasons. The weather isn't condusive to horses in this area. I have had to bury too many of my neighbors horses and one of mine. I have a daughter who is a very hard working young lady and has my grand daughter and soon will be out of a home and looking for a place to live. She needs my help and I am hundreds of miles away. My horses need my help and I need yours. I have sold all the items that would be considered a luxury in any way.
If you only knew, it has been difficult for me to write this. I am an independent person that has never had to beg for help. Well I am now I'm being backed into a corner and the stress and worry has only caused more head aches.
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. I prefer to be working so a job offer is as great as a donation.
