As some of you know, a wonderful man has left us far too soon. David Bushnell was dear to so many because of a life exceptionally well lived.
A beloved father, husband, friend, architect, outdoorsman and environmentalist, all who connected with David were immeasurably enriched by knowing him. None of us were prepared to lose him so suddenly. Now his wife Laurence and daughters Léa and Lola need our support as they face uncertain years ahead.
Perhaps you, like me, owe a huge debt to this family - to Laurence as a friend and a master teacher with endless heart, to Léa and Lola who as students and friends have brightened our classrooms and homes, to David himself, an unsurpassed friend and the architect responsible for creating the first LEED Gold certified high school in San Francisco in designing the San Francisco Waldorf High School. When creating something of beauty and utility, it was the health of the earth that David considered the ultimate yardstick of success.
