Life After Losing a Loved One

Donación protegida
Let me start by saying this: I'm not and never have been one to turn to others in time of need or ask for help. I've always been a go-getter and eager to be successful. Which at the end of the day is why I'm doing this... for my Mom. I don't want anyone to feel sorry, but to understand the reality people are forced to endure when things like this happen.

I lost my Dad (my Mom, her husband) in February of this year to renal failure, amongst other illnesses. The past few years have been a tough and enduring battle caring for my late father. However, my family and I loved and looked after him day in and day out because that's what you do for those you love. But with that came troubles, stress and hardship.

Some of you may be thinking "why in the world is she setting up a Go Fund Me for her Mom when they live such a lavish lifestyle and own so much material things?"

I'll tell you why.

Yes, my Dad owned a business and yes, we had health insurance. But that doesn't mean we are made of money. Medical expenses for my Dad while he was ill were through the roof expensive and in most cases, insurance did not cover the care he received, resulting in out-of-pocket expenses. My Dad did not plan a life for my Mom after his death. He did not have life insurance due to the fact he was so severely ill, no company would cover him. He did not leave a will for my Mom. He did not leave the company he worked his entire life for to my Mom. She was left with absolutely nothing. He left her nothing but stress, debt and even more hardship to endure. As if grieving over the loss of her husband of nearly 30 years wasn't enough, she gets thrown into the bullpen of life after loss.

Upon the death of my Dad, people hounded my Mom for his belongings, his car memorabilia, etc., saying she was set for life. But that is far from the case.

People see what they want to see. They perceive things from an outside view. They have no idea what is happening from an internal perspective.

My Mom was left with nothing. No money to pay the bills that come along with life. Home mortgage, health insurance, car insurance, water, gas, electric, groceries, etc. But no one sees that. She has worked her butt off trying to support herself the past few months. She has parted with the most important things from my Dad's life just to be able to keep a roof over her head and feed herself.

But money only lasts so long before you run dry. It's been nearly five months since the passing of my Dad and she is struggling to say the least. She is in the process of listing her home for sale, only to pay off the mortgage, which is more than half the cost of the home. Then buy a new home and live off the remainder of the money from the sale.

Money isn't important, and her and I have never seen that from a more crystal clear perspective then we have recently.

At the end of the day, all I want is my Mom to be genuinely happy and to not have the stress that has been brought upon her for such a long time coming. I want to be able to have a conversation with her without her breaking down in tears over things no person should have to deal with on a daily basis.

She is the hardest working woman I have ever met in my life. She bends over backwards for others and deserves the chance to have someone do something nice for her and help her out for once.

She currently has thousands and thousands of dollars worth of bills sitting on her counter and no way to pay them... I would never ask anyone to help if it wasn't truly needed. I've done everything I possibly can to get her back on her feet and I will continue to do so.

The purpose of this campaign is to show her that there truly are good people out there who are willing to help those in time of need. I want to raise this money so she is able to stop worrying about how she is going to pay her next bill and be able to stop and enjoy life with loved ones, even if it is just for a minute.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this. It means more to my family and I then you will ever know. <3
