Libby's Missions Trip to Thailand

“Keep an open mind, you never know what God’s going to do!”

This was said by Kris, my sweet husband, as I was heading out the door to my school; on my way to hear about the several missions opportunities we would have. Silly husband, I had already decided to just stay in Minnesota for the local option. Once I arrived at The House School of Ministry that fateful, mid-October day, I began to hear about trusting God for finances in the midst of fundraising for a missions trip.  “So glad I am doing the local trip, which I can totally just budget in without having to fundraise!” thought the naive girl, to herself.

Then, after a few of the trips had been announced, a man with a sparkle in his eyes grabbed the microphone. He proceeded to talk about the trip he was leading. a trip to Thailand. He said that while in Thailand, we would be ministering to girls ages 3-15 who had been rescued from trafficking, abandonment, and from being at a high-risk to be trafficked.  I was moved. Near tears, I felt that God had placed it in my heart that He wanted me to go to Thailand. I applied for the trip and my emotions were swirling, unsure of whether I would get accepted, be able to raise the funds, or even get a passport soon enough. Isn’t it funny how small things can become big things in our minds? I ended up getting my passport not a week and a half after I sent it in, then, last Tuesday I got the email I had been hoping for. I was accepted for the trip to Thailand!

I am thrilled to have this opportunity, and I am so excited to go! April 1st-12th, 2018, my team will be partnering with Courageous Love ministries and doing evangelism in what has been described as “a theme park for pedophiles,” some of the darkest places on earth. We will also be training leaders. The part of the trip I am most excited for is getting to minister to the rescued girls in Courageous Love’s safe homes. Only aged 3-15, they have been through more pain in their lifetime than many adults could even imagine. Some were abandoned by their parents, many were abused, and most were either trafficked or at a high risk to be trafficked.

I am asking that you would partner with me in this chance to show the love of Jesus to those who need it the most. The full cost of the trip is $3200. Kris and I, through our savings and careful budgeting, are going to try and put $1000 of our own money towards that amount. The rest that is left, which will cover all travel expenses, food, insurance, and fees, is $2400. There are two great ways to partner with me in this exciting time!

1.Prayer for my team and I is crucial! We will be in a very dark place, and we would be blessed if we are covered in prayer. Specific things to pray for are:

-Health. On this trip, our health is important. We can’t minister well if we aren’t physically able!
-Our hearts. Being in this region, while exhilarating, has the potential to be overwhelming spiritually. Pray for our hearts to be strengthened in Christ!
-Their hearts. We know there will be many testimonies on this trip! Pray for God to soften the hearts of those we will be speaking and ministering to, and that His word will go forth and be glorified.

2. One of the ways you can help is to give financially. Without your help, I will not be able to go on this trip. Any amount will help towards the final cost, and will be a part of seeing hearts restored, bodies restored, and people saved! I am honored that you would consider partnering with me in this new adventure!

I am so excited to share God’s faithfulness with you as the trip gets closer! I will be sharing updates here, on my blog, and on Social Media.

Great things are coming!
