Libby's Story and Road to Recovery

Libby is a 5 year old incredible pig that lives at Spring Farm Sanctuary in Long Lake, Minnesota. She is a loving part of our family, and needs our help. Libby is in desperate need of a delicate life saving surgery that the University of Minnesota Vet Hospital cannot perform.They are recommending that we travel with Libby for 17 plus hours to Cornell University in Ithaca New York for She is suffering from a middle ear infection that has also infected the tympanic bulla in her ear.  She also might have meningitis. Our doctors at the U of M gave a guess at a 50/50 chance of survival. We are going to take that chance. We are leaving with her tonight( Jan 28th) at 9pm and hope the trip goes well and we will arrive at Cornell at 3pm on Wednesday Jan 29th. Some of you may think we are crazy for going to this length to try to save her.  It is an incredibly stressful situation to deal with, and it does indeed feel a bit crazy. I am asking those of you that understand and would take a 50/50 chance in saving your dog, cat, horse etc. Please consider helping Libby. Her life matters to her, to us and we hope to you. She is like a dog to us, only smarter. Our heartfelt thanks to those of you that can contribute to her chance for life.
