Hi, my name is Tanya Parlanti. After experiencing the devastating impact that FND has had on our lives, I would like to help others, who haven’t been as fortunate as we have, receive the therapy they need for their children. Unfortunately, what people don’t realize is FND is not even recognized by most doctors and neurologists. It’s too complex for them to understand, and therefore getting help is almost impossible and also never covered by insurance.

I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of Liam and his mother Valarie. Liam’s struggles with FND started last January after battling an illness. Prior to getting sick, he played baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. Now he is unable to do any of those things; he can’t stand, walk, sit upright, and is in constant debilitating abdominal pain and widespread pain. These symptoms have flipped his life upside down, as Liam is now 10 months bedridden. School is also a challenge, and he is currently on homebound instruction. Liam should be out living and experiencing life as a regular 12-year-old boy, but instead, all of that has been taken away from him!

Valarie would like to take Liam to Re+Active, where he will attend therapy and get on the road to recovery! Unfortunately, this is a very long and expensive plane ride; they will need a place to live, and the treatment is also not at all covered by insurance.

A few words to describe Liam are intelligent, strong-willed, loving, and adventurous. He loves school! He is an honor society student. He has many friends and enjoys so many things such as video games, bikes, scooters, and golf carts, and kayaking. Please help Liam get back to living! Any dollar helps; no amount is too small!
