Liam Corbett Education Fund

Help change a young man’s life forever.

Remember our friend Liam Corbett? He was a finalist in a competition to receive a scholarship to the Recruit Academy, a year 11 and 12 program offering players of Australian Rules Football the opportunity to continue their education while learning the broader aspects of working within an AFL environment.

Unfortunately, Liam missed out on a scholarship but we’re not giving up on the idea of helping him achieve his goal.

Liam is a 16-year old local Carnegie lad. His Mother is a hard-working, dedicated single parent who has raised a good son.  While determined to see Liam realise his dream of attending the academy her current job as the manager of the high school canteen will not cover the $6,500 per year fees.

Liam’s dream to attend the academy is not a phase. He’s been working hard towards this goal for the last few years, training all year around to make sure he’s physically fit. His acceptance into the Academy is homage to his efforts.

Living in a country that has a culture of mateship and generosity, this page gives us all a chance to help develop one of our own that otherwise might not have the opportunity.

Any financial help you can give will go directly towards his tuition.
