Liam The Warrior

  My  grandson Liam Lewis Semple has Heterotaxy Syndrome. This is a rare birth defect that involves the heart and other organs. Hetero means "different" and taxy means "arrangement." There are different forms of Heterotaxy Syndrome and all forms are varying types and severity. All children with this syndrome will require lifelong care by a cardiologist.  In many cases such as Liams, he will need and require care from different teams for many years. 
  Liam was born in October of 2016 to my son Gabe Semple, and fiancé  Jamie Brzozowski.  Since the day he was born doctors have been rebuilding his heart ever since. In August of 2019 Liam was sent to Boston Childrens Hospital for open heart surgery which resulted in many complications. He has had SIX open heart surgeries since and just had another one on December 4th. 
  My sweet grandson is all but 3 years old and has spent the majority of his life in a hospital. I do the best that I can to help my son, and his family all while taking care of my own. Liam also has a baby sister who is 3 months old. With the cost of travel back and forth to Boston, hospital stays, and the cost of staying at the Yakki House  at $30.00 per night, Liam's parents have had to winterize and stop paying on their mobile home in Mariaville , ME.
  Liam's father Gabe works as much as possible but is unable to work full time due to needing to care for their baby girl. To further make things difficult their only vehicle  brown down in August of this summer. With Jamie being a stay at home Mom and spending most of her time at the hospital with their son, finances have not allowed room for another vehicle purchase.  While Gabe is working grandparents step in to watch the baby and he borrows his mother's car.  Gabe and Jamie spend most of their time apart and are struggling to make ends meet.
