Help TigerLily Figure Skate

TigerLily Butler is 8-years-old, and she is a really talented little figure skater. She started ice skating when she was 4, and she exhibited a natural talent right away. Last spring TigerLily participated in her first competitions. Even though she is really shy off the ice, her poise, grace and confidence was quite beautiful to watch. To me, her mother, this made her a winner at both of those competitions. And, I wasn't the only one impressed by Tiger's performances: she won first place at both competitions! Here is a video of her TigerLily skating her program at the USFSA competition last June 2014 when she was just 7-and-a-half:


Figure skating is a very expensive sport. I might have discouraged Tiger's interest in the sport for that reason, but figure skating is clearly so healthy for Tiger. She derives so much confidence and joy from skating, and she spreads this joy to anyone who gets to see her skate.

This spring, TigerLily has the opportunity to participate in a full competition season. She has a great coach who will travel with her to events, and guide her through the discipline to train for these tests and competitions. But, all this comes with a price that is significantly higher than the cost of Tiger's skating alone. Normally we struggle to pay for lessons (approx. $350 a month), ice time ($7 per half hour=approx.  $200 a month), and equipment ($250skates, $15tights, skate sharpening, skate clothes). If TigerLily can participate in the competition season this spring, we will ALSO have to pay competition fees, travel, food, sometimes hotel, equipment, etc, for each event. And here is where we need your help. It was my mother who thought of setting up a Go Fund Me page so that TigerLily won't miss out on this challenging and enriching experience.
