LAND BACK 4 Black & Indigenous Farm Fund

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lunē G. with Wholly Human, and I'm thankful for your attention- please read on to learn about how you can help us restore and return land in Seminole Territory and protect it from climate-change-accelerating development.

Right now,
awareness of the relationship between colonization, capitalism and climate change is at an all time high, due to catalytic changes and upheavals in our environments- both socio-political and biological. This is an issue that has been brewing for quite some time, one that in many ways began around 500 years ago when a group of European nations conspired to exploit and conquer other lands for money at an unprecedented scale, and created the racial classes of Blackness and Whiteness to validate their violent and inhumane campaigns of land dispossession and genocide.

Today, so many years later, we are all living in the result and continuation of these actions, with each of us facing different amounts of privilege, trauma, marginalization and urgency. Nonetheless, we are called to action- to do something to right these wrongs, restore balance, and do whatever we can to give our Earth the respect deserved and the connection needed to heal.

It is in this spirit that I created this project, though it requires the help of a village to get started.

With Climate Change accelerating, one of our first issues is stopping the fast and reckless clearcut development of land in Florida; over 1000 people a day are moving into the state in accordance with the high value and market appeal of land in Florida seen as a real estate commodity; most of the land in the Central Florida area is Seminole Nation Territory and, like the rest of Turtle Island, being occupied by settler governments.

Our current aim:  to purchase land in the North Florida area with the intent to title it back to the Seminole Nation in a Land Back effort funded in part by your donations and reparations through myself and my partner in this work as Black Indigenous & Native people.

Our intention: Rematriating the land through return to Native Sovereignty, land stewardship and restoration of carbon sequestering flora and fauna, and creating a space for learning, healing, and  reconnection with our Earth and Indigenous lifeways.

We need you to: in acknowledgement of the history of this land, and the spirit of healing, reparation and radical action, financially contribute to this fundraiser. Your offerings will go to:

1. The down payment on the purchase of acreage in North Florida
2. Legal fees associated with the proper formations required to complete this process.
3. Funding for my efforts as head organizer of this project, as this process consumes time and skill I am not employed to do.

Stretch goal: paying for foundational supplies and services needed to amend & prepare the land we will be living with (things like water access, soil tests, equipment).

The full project will be called The Green House and we are excited to share more details about it in the future!

Honestly, over the past several years I have been pushing and pushing myself to do more to come up with the money needed to attain land and begin rematriation in earnest, but finally, unfortunately, my spirit has nothing left to sacrifice for capitalism and after a youth spent paying for the effects of colonization on my upbringing and mental health I am moved to realize that we will need  community support to create this community space.

Thankfully, I’m a huge believer in the goodness of people, our natural urge to help others, and the tendency of humans to empathize and offer support. It would mean the world to me to be able to receive that from you all today, and would allow me and my partners a chance to bring our gifts to the world, and the ability to really heal- and help others heal- from centuries of oppression and land dispossession.

At this point I am calling on you, on your compassion, on your sense of justice. On your ancestors and mine, on the goodness of humanity and the milk of human kindness. From my ancestors to yours,  I am forever and eternally grateful to those who feel called to support this effort. Thank you. Salamat. Gracias. Aśe. Peace.
