Long Grove Park District

The Long Grove Park District is a rarity among park districts, as we do not tax.  In other words, you pay zip, zero, nada taxes to the Park District.  It exists by grants, donations and volunteer labor.

The unpaid volunteer leadership team at Long Grove Park District is responsible for the care and management of 500 acres of open spaces, parks and natural preserves in Long Grove, including the nationally recognized Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Preserve.  This preserve is rich in plant and animal diversity, and the Park District works to keep out invasive plant species, as well as maintain the walking trails, foot bridges and boardwalks and remove dead or storm-damaged trees.

The Park District also maintains the historic Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Center, which serves as a meeting place for various clubs and organizations. The Park District offers activities and programs for children, teens and adults, all year long, including nature talks, yoga, chess, horseback riding and more. Finally, the Park District has been working to eradicate the highly invasive teasel plant along Long Grove roadsides and on Long Grove Park District properties

Please support the beneficial work of your Park District this holiday season with a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation.   We appreciate your contribution!
