Hello all. 

I hope this finds you with comfort and peace as 2020 seems like it’s taking a toll on all of us. My name is Donovan Long, I’m 27 and I am a proud gay black man and I wear it with pride. It’s not always been easy to say that though but it is now as I am surrounded by so many loved ones and positive vibes. I am originally from Wheeling, West Virginia a small town with a population of 26,700 in 2018. I have recently moved to Brooklyn, NY July of 2019. Growing up back at home as a teenager was.... alarming to say the least and as an adult now I am aware of the lack of LGBTQ visibility that my hometown even allowed. Although after I came out 8th grade summer going into my freshman year I am also aware that it isn’t so easy to do that, especially at such a young age. I’ve recently made a vow with myself to make others aware and accepting of the LGBTQ YOUTH VISIBILITY EVERYWHERE I GO AND WHEREVER I END UP. Also to stand up and be there for LGBTQ youth that are in need. To also be a person the they can confine in, a mentor to say! I vow to use my voice always and fight for them!!!

I started my activist journey in 2016 after Pulse nightclub in Orlando suffered from the terroristic attack that it did and finally made it to the street in the summer of 2018 when Antwon Rose, 17, was murdered by the City of Pittsburghs Police Department and if it’s one thing that I have found out while being out here, fighting for the people, demanding liberation for all is that I have thousands of supporters behind me... so I ask my much loved supporters and the rest of the community to help me with my first independent project: 

As the Holiday season approaches I’ve been thinking to myself “what can I do for the LGBTQ YOUTH?!?!?” And that’s when I came up with LGBTQ SANTA “GIFT”-AWAY! I have picked 5 members of the LGBTQ youth community to spoil with gifts, money and necessities.... but I need your help, my loving supporters and my motivating community..... I am asking for donations and even gifts to remind these lovely people of WHO THEY ARE AND THAT THEIR LGBTQ VISIBILITY WILL ALWAYS MATTER! Days before Christmas I will be shopping and delivering gifts to the youth I have picked. Along with this GoFundMe I have created an Instagram where I will post bios of the youth and more!
