LGBTQIA Plus Hurricane Laura Relief Fund

In light of Hurricane Laura and in consideration of the LGBTQIA+ community affected, The House of Baldwin wants to uplift and support where we can. The House of Baldwin is a organization founded in February of 2020 in Texas intended to guide, mold, and clear a path for the LGBTQIA+ community here in the south. We always strive to support and uplift our queer family however and whenever possible. It’s no secret but too often people in our community are denied access to fundamental resources and discriminated against. This initiative is in efforts to raise funds to directly give financial relief to queer folks who need to relocate, get medications, as well as simply help them sustain life in these hard times. The funds will be distributed directly through Venmo, Zelle, Cash app and Apple Pay to individuals who complete the application. Thus far 2020 has proven itself to be discouraging and threatening to society as we know it. This year alone there’ve been at the least 26 transgender or gender non-conforming people fatally shot or killed. We say at least because too often these stories go unreported -- or misreported. In the House of Baldwin we may not be able to intervene with every attack against humanity or the LGBTQIA+ community but we want to alleviate threats and provide life changing solutions wherever we can. This initiative is where we want to start. Whether the donation is big or small, know that it’s still very substantial and that you’re making a difference in someone’s life for the better.
