Lexie's Last Minute Rescue

This past Thursday, October 4, 2018, I almost lost my wife, Wyndell, due to an unexpected and tragic event. Fortunately, I was able to contact the ambulance within enough time, as Wyndell was close to losing complete consciousness due to rapid blood loss.
The Grady EMT Team along with the assistance of Fulton County Police rushed my wife to the Level 1 Trauma unit where they immediately began to work on her life-threatening injuries. While totally unrelated to the events that led to the trauma, the surgical team also discovered a grapefruit-sized tumor on Wyndell’s left ovary. They immediately called in for backup!
The Gynecological Team arrived to assist in a tag-team operation to both save Wyndell’s life and to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, of course, they were not able to save her ovary as well. As of today, we are still waiting on the lab results that will inform us of whether the tumor was benign or malignant and if malignant, if it has spread to any other parts of Wyndell’s body.
This is not the beginning or end of a sob story. With NG tube and 26 staples in place, Wyndell woke up still full of hope and with the desire to continue to provide for her family. However, of course, she has a long road of recovery ahead, both mentally and physically. She will not be able to return to work for at least 6 to 8 weeks after she’s discharged from the hospital.
Wyndell is now on her 11th day of hospitalization. In addition to the medical bills that have begun to pile up, some of you may have already seen me running back and forth between her recovery room and doing my best to organize our household expenses as well.
At this point, our personal funds are rapidly depleting. So, now we are turning to our family, friends, colleagues, loved-ones and basically anyone in our contact lists. Thank you to those who have already financially and physically come through. Now we are asking for the support from anyone else who is also willing to do the same.
