Levi’s ACL Surgery

Donation protected
Hi guys,

As hard as this was for me to ask for donations for Levi’s surgery, a lot of people have encouraged me to do so. (As ridiculous as I feel saying this, he is my child-my 90 pound needy baby of a child) But most importantly, thank you if you choose to donate, but please don't feel obligated. Any donation will help in Levi’s surgery and 12 week recovery.

As most of you know, Levi is my baby, my adventure buddy, my copilot and Scooters best friend. There aren't many places he doesn't go with me. He comes with me on the majority of our play dates and if he isn’t on one-he’s sitting in the car starring out the window waiting for his Velcro mom to return. Levi is an extremely active boy, he loves his play dates, beach trips, running at the bogs, hiking and chasing that one specific perfect squeaky tennis ball-and we know it has to be the right one or else it’s the end of the world in his mind ‍

Levi has never said no to a play date or a car ride-there are days when I try leaving the house alone and he bolts out the door and just stands next to the car(bring me just bring me you won’t even notice I’m there) Unfortunately a few weeks ago (while being the big dope that he is - as many of you know), he was running around and started yelping really badly. He then refused to put any weight on his right hind leg. Upon a vet visit, it was to my dismay that he completely tore his right knee cruciate ligament and has a partial tear in his meniscus. The surgery is called a tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO). It is a surgery performed on dogs to stabilize the stifle joint after ruptures of the cruciate ligament. After looking at his X-rays, Dr. Townsend at New England Animal Medical Center quoted me $4,000 for a dog his size and the type of surgery he needs  So any money that is donated will be going right to the vet to help pay this hefty bill down as soon as I can.

He's currently on pain medicine until his surgery which is scheduled for next month. And as you can imagine, isn't too happy that he's not allowed to be running, jumping around with his friends and going every place with me. Quite honestly he is depressed.

Again, thanks, guys.  You know how much it truly means to me Levi & Scooter.. and hopefully he wont be tripod for much longer
